Class of 1977, Vincenzo Guarino was born in Vico Equense, Naples, and as a child, through the loving teachings of his grandmother, he approached Mediterranean cuisine.
He attended the Istituto Professionale Statale per i servizi alberghieri e la ristorazione in Roccaraso, L’Aquila, Italy and, after graduating, took part in internships held in Lausanne, Zurich, Naples and Milan, working alongside prestigious star chefs such as Fredy Girardet, André Jaeger and Davide Oldani.
He participated in specialisation courses in cooking and patisserie.
Since the beginning of his career he has worked in several starred restaurants, both in Italy and abroad, alongside chefs such as Gualtiero Marchesi in Capri, Peter Wiss in Gstaad and Nazzareno Menghini in Rome.
Thanks to these experiences, he obtained the title of Executive Chef at the Relais Chateaux & Bellevue Syrene in Sorrento and in 2008 in Verona, he won the Chicco d’oro prize for the best risotto.
In 2009, he received the prestigious Michelin star for the first time, working as Executive Chef at the I Salotti restaurant in the Hotel Patriarca in Chiusi, Siena.
He was Executive Chef at the L’Accanto restaurant, within the Grand Hotel Angiolieri in Vico Equense, Naples, from 2012 to 2015 where he was awarded a Michelin star.
In 2016, he received a Michelin star for the third time at Ristorante Il Pievano at Castello di Spaltenna, Siena.
In 2019, he worked at the Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como, at the restaurant L˜ARIA, where he received a further Michelin star within a few months.
In 2017, he published the book La Cucina Creativa Mediterranea by Vincenzo Guarino in Italian and English, awarded at the Gourmand World Cookbooks Awards 2019 in the category Creative Mediterranean Cuisine.
Vincenzo was the creator of the “Dining with the Stars” event at the Castello Di Spaltenna Exclusive Tuscan Resort & Spa, bringing more than 45 Michelin-starred chefs from around the world since 2016.
